his series
was one of several DC Comics based superhero cartoons that formed part of the 60-minute compilation
program, The
Superman/Aquaman Hour of Adventure. Only three, seven-minute
episodes of Hawkman were produced.
Carter Hall, scientific genius
from a far-off world, worked on Earth as an unassuming space lab
technician on the outskirts of Midway City. But when trouble
reared it ugly head, he flew into action as the winged wonder
Hawkman, with the assistance of his faithful fighting mascot
Skreal, who was (what else) a hawk. Hawkman was equipped with a
power gauntlet in the shape of a claw that could fire various
types of rays and chemicals to assist him in taking on earthly
as well as interplanetary foes. When duty took him away from
Earth, he used his powerful wings to fly to his orbiting
spaceship, from which he could rocket through the cosmos in
record time.
Hawkman
could also be seen in the concurrent
Justice League of
America series, and later as a member of the
Super Friends. |
